WELCOME TO THE
LUTHERAN PLANNED GIVING CONSORTIUM, METRO DC
The Lutheran Planned Giving
Consortium is a partnership linking the Evangelical Lutheran Church in
America Foundation, the Metropolitan Washington, DC ELCA Synod, and seven
other affiliated Lutheran ministries (see member listing).
A priority for most people as
they consider their estate planning is to care for family and loved ones.
This is to practice good stewardship. However, after family is remembered,
many people also want to remember Lutheran ministries that have been
important to them during their lifetimes.
Our mission is to encourage
people to make gifts to Lutheran ministries through their estate plans –
such as through wills, beneficiary designations, and life income gifts. We
also offer assistance to individuals that want to support the work of the
LPGC partners, and other ministries of the church, with planned gifts. We
provide workshops at congregations and other ministries to educate people
about basic ways to continue their stewardship through legacy giving.
Our Executive Director, Alice
Benson, MBA, CFRE, is available at no cost or obligation for consultation
about various types of planned gifts. She is also available as a resource
to congregations of the Metro DC Synod to establish or promote Mission
Endowment Funds, which are excellent vehicles to receive planned gifts.
We have some excellent
handbooks to help you plan for both your family and ministries you love.
There may be some tax benefits to some types of gifts as well. Please
contact Alice Benson at 301-963-6570 or
alice.benson@elca.org with your questions, or to arrange a time to
meet. Ms. Benson does not receive any commissions nor sell any products,
and is paid directly by the Lutheran Planned Giving Consortium members.
